The best things to do in the Gorges du Verdon

The Gorges du Verdon are a veritable playground for outdoor sports enthusiasts. You can enjoy activities such as hiking on the scenic trails, kayaking on Lac de Sainte-Croix, as well as more leisurely water activities such as electric boats or pedal boats to explore the turquoise waters at your own pace. For the more adventurous, rafting, canyoning and via ferrata offer unforgettable thrills in the heart of the Verdon’s breathtaking landscapes. For those who prefer to relax, the magnificent viewpoints allow you to savor moments of contemplation. The campsite is the ideal starting point for all these adventures.

The Verdon rises at 2819 m on the Col d’Allos and joins the Durance at Vinon sur Verdon. Its total length is 175 km. But the most sensational thing about it is the height of the cliffs, which vary from 250 to 700 m, the width from 6 to 100 m and from 200 to 1500 m at the top of the gorges.

There are many viewpoints in the Gorges du Verdon, offering spectacular panoramas of the cliffs, canyon and Lac de Sainte-Croix. Among the most famous is Point Sublime, which offers a breathtaking view of the Gorges du Verdon and their turquoise waters. The Sentier Blanc-Martel is also a must for hikers in search of breathtaking scenery.

Less elevated but just as beautiful, the Sentier du Garde-Canal walk is suitable for the whole family, and lets you discover the gorges from another angle. These viewpoints are ideal for memorable photos and for admiring the beauty of the surrounding nature.
