The Gorges du Verdon are a veritable playground for outdoor sports enthusiasts. The Verdon rises at 2819 m on the Col d’Allos and joins the Durance at Vinon sur Verdon. Its total length is 175 km. But the most sensational thing about it is the height of the cliffs, which vary from 250 to 700 m, the width from 6 to 100 m and from 200 to 1500 m at the top of the gorges.
